Room grades, sizes and facilities come from Cresta Hotels’ own property and facilities pages and the Botswana Tourism Organisation register. We have not stayed here.

Gardens change what a city hotel is for
Gaborone’s hotels are mostly business properties on hard standing. Five acres of planted grounds is a different proposition, particularly if you are breaking a long drive with children or arriving off a flight with a day to fill before heading north.
It is still a city hotel and it still serves the conference trade. But the grounds mean the pool is somewhere to spend an afternoon rather than a courtesy.
The Mokolodi connection
Mokolodi Nature Reserve is the single best reason to give Gaborone a full day rather than a night, and this hotel is the closest of the three Gaborone properties here. White rhino, giraffe and zebra on 12,000 acres half an hour from the capital is not something most African capitals can offer.
Mokolodi has its own self-catering chalets and campsites, covered separately in this catalogue. If you would rather have a restaurant and a serviced room and drive out for the day, this is the pairing that works — and our South-East Botswana guide covers what else is within reach.
Who Cresta Lodge Gaborone suits
- Travellers planning a Mokolodi day, for the short run out and back.
- Families, for grounds rather than a lobby.
- Business travellers who would rather not be in a tower.
It suits you less if you need to be in the CBD, or want a resort with a casino and a spa.
