Accommodation in the Okavango Delta
Water camps and island lodges reached by light aircraft or mokoro. Small, seasonal, and booked a long way ahead.
This archive is the whole Okavango inventory: the fly-in concession camps out on the water, the island lodges, the camps on the Moremi boundary and at Khwai, and the guesthouses and river lodges up the Panhandle at Shakawe and Gumare. If you want the region explained rather than the beds listed, the Okavango Delta travel guide covers the geography, the flood and how the concessions work.
Five kinds of stay sit in here and they barely overlap. Fly-in camps are all-inclusive, guided and reached by light aircraft. Island and water lodges are seasonal and depend on where the flood is. Camps on the Moremi and Khwai edges are drivable in a proper 4x4. Public campsites inside the reserve are booked separately, through the site operator rather than centrally. And the gateway beds are 90 km away in Maun, which is where almost every trip starts and ends.
Before you fix dates, read the flood cycle: the Delta is fullest in the dry season, and the water arrives at the Panhandle months before it reaches the south.
