Sitatunga Camp sits at Tsanekona, south of Maun, and is run by Delta Rain, a Maun operator founded in 1997. That combination is the point of it: the camp and the safari company are the same business, so the trip you book and the people who run it are not two different organisations.

South of Maun at Tsanekona, on road access. No 4×4 required to reach the camp.

Booking the bed and the trip together
Most Maun properties will book your activities for you, but they are acting as an agent: you pay the lodge, the lodge pays an operator, and if something goes wrong on the day you are dealing with two companies. Where the camp and the operator are one business, that layer disappears.

South of town, not on the Shorobe road
Almost every Maun camping property is north-east of town on the Shorobe road towards Moremi. Sitatunga is south, at Tsanekona, which makes it quieter and slightly further from the Moremi run but no further from the airport.
If you are heading for the Central Kalahari or the Makgadikgadi rather than Moremi, being on the southern side is an advantage rather than a cost.
Who Sitatunga Camp suits
- Self-drivers and overlanders, for the private and public campsites and the space.
- Travellers booking activities on arrival, since the operator is the property.
- Anyone heading south or west rather than north to Moremi.
It suits you less if you want a lodge with a spa and a restaurant terrace, or if you want to be on the Moremi road.
