Mogoditshane sits immediately west of Gaborone on the Molepolole road and has grown into the city without becoming part of it. Staying here keeps you minutes from the capital while heading west or north is easier, and the mix leans heavily to guesthouses and small hotels serving people who work in Gaborone but would rather not sleep in it.
Mogoditshane is not a destination, and its accommodation does not pretend to be. The village sits immediately north-west of Gaborone on the A12 toward Molepolole, and the boundary between the two is invisible on the ground. What it offers a traveller is a licensed bed within reach of the capital, usually at less than city-centre money.
Almost all of the register here is small: converted residential plots holding guesthouse or bed and breakfast licences, generally under ten rooms, run by the household rather than by a front desk. Demand comes from people working in Gaborone, family visits and self-drive parties staging before a run west on the A12.
