Palapye sits on the A1 between Gaborone and Francistown, at the junction for Serowe and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. It is a coal and university town rather than a tourist one, and almost all of its accommodation is built for contractors, students’ families and people driving the eastern corridor.
For travellers it is a useful place to break the drive, and it is the obvious base for a Khama Rhino Sanctuary visit if you would rather not camp. We list its properties plainly, because that is what they are.
