Tuli beyond the big-name camps
The Northern Tuli Game Reserve is best known for the Mashatu group, and those camps deserve their reputation. They are not the only beds in the block.
Around the reserve are community villages and private farms with small lodges and self-catering camps, most of them register-only. They are a different kind of Tuli trip: cheaper, plainer and closer to the people who live there.
Who it suits
- Travellers who want Tuli without the big-camp rates.
- Self-drive parties crossing at Pont Drift or Zanzibar.
- Anyone happy to contact a property directly rather than book online.
