A community trust, not a private reserve

Khama Rhino Sanctuary is run by a trust set up by the local community with the Botswana government, and the fees fund the anti-poaching that keeps the rhino alive. That is a different proposition from a commercial lodge and worth understanding: the accommodation is functional because the money goes to the animals.

The best rhino odds in Botswana, and the honest caveat

Both white and black rhino live here in a fenced sanctuary of manageable size, so sightings are far more likely than in the open north. The sanctuary also warns that one un-tamed male black rhino appears near the restaurant in the afternoon and should not be approached. Take that literally.
