Kubu Lodge sits on Kubu Road at Kazungula, on the Chobe riverfront between Kasane and the border posts, in mature gardens under flamboyant trees. Eleven chalets makes it one of the smaller riverfront properties, and it is noticeably quieter than the stretch closer to town.

How we checked this listing
Chalet count, location and transfers come from the lodge’s own website. We have not stayed here.
Kazungula, not Kasane
Many listings file this lodge under Kasane. The address is Kazungula, and the practical difference is real: you are closer to the border posts and further from Kasane’s shops, restaurants and tour operators.
For a traveller crossing into Zambia or Zimbabwe that is an advantage. For one who wants to walk to a supermarket it is not. Our Kasane guide explains how the town, the border and the park fit together.
Eleven chalets on a busy river
The Chobe riverfront supports some very large properties, and in season the water carries a great deal of boat traffic. A small lodge in mature gardens set back among trees is a different experience from an eighty-room terrace, and for a two or three night stay that difference is most of the decision.
What you give up is the activity fleet. Boat cruises and game drives are arranged rather than run in-house, which is normal at this size but worth knowing if you want a private boat.
Booking this property
Kubu Lodge takes reservations by email and telephone. There is no online booking engine and no listing we could confirm lands on this property, so we have not published a booking button. Contact details are on the lodge’s own site, linked below.
Who Kubu Lodge suits
- Travellers who want a small riverfront property rather than a resort.
- Anyone crossing at Kazungula, for whom the position saves a run back through Kasane.
- Couples, for eleven chalets in gardens rather than a terrace of eighty rooms.
It suits you less if you want to be in Kasane town, or if you want boats and vehicles run by the property itself.
Book or compare
We have not been able to confirm a booking route for Kubu Lodge specifically. Rather than send you to a property that is not this one, the availability button compares stays across Chobe and Kasane. It does not claim to open this property.
We publish no rate here. Prices move with season, occupancy and cancellation terms, and a figure copied once is a figure that goes stale.
Botswana Travel Guide may earn a commission when you book through selected links, at no additional cost to you. It does not change what we list or what we say about it.
What we publish, and what we do not
We publish no rates, no availability, no star ratings and no review scores of our own.
If anything here is out of date, tell us through our contact page and we will check it against the source and correct it.
