Kwara Camp sits on a forested island above a perennial lagoon in the southern Kwara Private Concession, NG20 — 175,000 hectares sharing a thirty-kilometre water boundary with northern Moremi. It is one of the older camps in the Delta and it takes nine guests a night, which is the number that shapes everything else about it.

Suites at Kwara Camp

Nine suites split between Kwara South, with four tents, and Kwara North, with five tents plus a pilot tent. Each has a private viewing deck, a lounge area and an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. Power is 100 per cent solar with generator backup.

Facilities at Kwara Camp

Open-sided dining, lounge and bar under canvas, two swimming pool areas each with its own bathroom and drinks station, a safari shop, complimentary laundry, and Wi-Fi the operator describes as limited.

Who it suits

Adults travelling without children — the camp does not accept under-18s — who want low guest numbers and a concession that allows night drives and off-road tracking.

Location and access

Fly-in by light aircraft to the Kwara airstrip, roughly ten minutes from camp. About 30 minutes flying from Maun and 80 minutes from Kasane. Helicopter transfers are available.

How we checked this listing

Suite counts, the nine-guest maximum, concession size, the no-under-18s policy and flight times come from the Kwando Safaris operator page for this camp. We have not stayed here.

Nine guests is the specification, not a detail

A camp taking nine people on 175,000 hectares is a different product from a twenty-four-bed camp on the same ground. It changes vehicle sharing, it changes how long you can sit with a sighting, and it changes the odds that another vehicle arrives. If you are paying concession prices, that ratio is most of what you are paying for.

Water and land from one camp

Kwara runs mokoro, motorboat and game drive from the same base, with a heronry visit at Godikwe in the breeding season. Many Delta camps are honestly one or the other. Being able to take a boat in the morning and track predators off-road at night, without moving camp, is the specific argument for this concession.

Booking this property

Kwara Camp sells through the operator and through safari agents rather than as a nightly-rate hotel room.

Book or compare

We have not been able to confirm a property-level booking route for Kwara Camp. Rather than send you to a property that is not this one, the availability button compares stays across the Okavango Delta. It does not claim to open this property.

We publish no rate here. Prices move with season, occupancy and cancellation terms, and a figure copied once is a figure that goes stale.

Botswana Travel Guide may earn a commission when you book through selected links, at no additional cost to you. It does not change what we list or what we say about it.

What we publish, and what we do not

We publish no nightly rate, no live availability, no star rating and no review score of our own. Those move with season and occupancy, and a figure copied once is a figure that goes stale. What we publish is what the property is, where it sits, who it suits and how you reach it.
