Where Walmont at The Grand Palm sits

The Peermont Walmont Hotel is the four-star hotel within The Grand Palm resort in Gaborone, Botswana’s capital. The resort sits about 15 kilometres from Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, which makes it a practical arrival or departure base for anyone flying into Botswana.

The hotel

Walmont carries 188 rooms and suites across seven room types, from entry-level Classic King and Classic Twin rooms through to a Presidential Suite on the fifth floor. It is one of the larger hotels in the country.

The rooms

Classic King rooms sleep two in a king bed and Classic Twin rooms have two single beds, both positioned as comfortable entry-level rooms suited to business or leisure. Higher categories run up through the range to the Presidential Suite.

Business and conference facilities

The hotel has dedicated business facilities and direct access to the Gaborone International Convention Centre, which is on the same resort. For conference delegates that removes any transfer between hotel and venue entirely.

Dining

A breakfast buffet is served daily at Mokolwane Bistro, with international and local dishes. The wider resort also carries the F.L.A.G. Cafe and other restaurants.

The casino

The Grand Palm Casino is on site. That, along with the convention centre, is what makes the resort a destination in Gaborone rather than simply a place to sleep.

Using Gaborone

Gaborone is the arrival point for most flights into Botswana from Johannesburg and the natural first or last night for travellers driving up from South Africa. Mokolodi Nature Reserve is a short drive out of the city.

Who it suits

Business executives, conference delegates using the GICC, and travellers wanting a full-service four-star hotel with restaurants, a casino and airport proximity rather than a small guesthouse.
