Camp Ukusi is a camp on the Okavango at Shakawe. The Panhandle is the part of the Okavango system that behaves like an ordinary river — deep, fast and lined with papyrus — before it loses itself in the delta downstream, and camps here sell fishing and birding rather than big game. Elephant and hippo do move along the banks, but this is not a Big Five destination and no honest operator here pretends otherwise.
