Shinde Footsteps is the walking camp in the Shinde Concession: a small, seasonal, deliberately simple camp set up for guests who want to cover the Delta on foot rather than from a vehicle. It runs alongside the main Shinde camp and is normally combined with it rather than booked alone.

Tents at Shinde Footsteps
A small seasonal walking camp with simple en-suite tents. Guest numbers are deliberately low; the operator confirms configuration and operating dates at the time of booking.
Facilities at Shinde Footsteps
Camp fire, shared dining under canvas, and the concession’s guiding team. This is a trail camp rather than a lodge, and the facilities are set accordingly.
Who it suits
Reasonably fit walkers who want armed guided walking as the main activity, not an add-on. It is not the camp for anyone who wants a pool and a spa.
Location and access
Fly-in to the Shinde concession, then transfer. Usually combined with nights at Shinde itself.
Walking the Delta is a different sense entirely
From a vehicle you see animals. On foot, with an armed guide, you read what they left behind — tracks, dung, broken branches, the smell of where a lion lay up. The sightings are fewer and the experience is far more concentrated. Most people who try it once want the next trip built around it.
Fitness and rules, honestly stated
Walking safaris in Botswana require an armed professional guide, run in single file, and have a minimum age — usually well into the teens. They are not strenuous in distance but they are hot and they demand discipline. If anyone in your party will not follow a whispered instruction, book the drives instead.
