Gomoti Plains takes its name from the river it borders, on the Gomoti floodplain system in the southern Delta. It is open country rather than dense riverine forest, which is why the operator leans on plains game — buffalo herds, and the lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog that work them.

Dense riverine camps give you intimacy and difficult light. Open floodplain gives you distance, sightlines and a clean background. If you are carrying a long lens and want animals against sky rather than thicket, a plains camp is the better base — and this is one.
Water and land from the same camp, seasonally
Gomoti offers mokoro and motorboat as well as drives, but the operator is clear that water activity depends on the level. That honesty is worth reading before you book a Delta trip around boats: the flood is not a fixture, and a camp that says so is telling you something useful.
