Where Chobe River Lodge sits
Chobe River Lodge stands on the Chobe River at Kasane with direct access to the Chobe game reserve by vehicle or by boat. That dual access is the practical selling point: you can be in the park on land or on water without a long transfer.
The rooms
There are twelve rooms in total. Six are Riverview double or twin suites, one is a family room sleeping two adults and two children, and five are Courtyard rooms, some with sleeper couches for children. It is a genuinely small lodge.
Riverview suites
The Riverview suites are king or twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms, spacious and facing the Chobe. They carry air conditioning, a tea and coffee station and free Starlink wifi, which is a meaningful detail in a part of Botswana where connectivity is often poor.
Courtyard rooms
The Courtyard rooms sit away from the river frontage and several have sleeper couches, which makes them a practical choice for families travelling with children.
The pool and seating areas
There is a rim-flow pool overlooking the river, and large indoor and outdoor seating areas. The pool is the centre of the property through the middle of the day.
Game drives and boat cruises
Game drives and boat cruises both run from the lodge. Chobe’s riverfront carries very high dry-season concentrations of elephant and buffalo, and the boat is the better platform for photography and birding.
Dining on the river and other extras
The lodge offers dining on the Chobe River, massages, and transfers. Day trips to Victoria Falls are run from here, with both the Zimbabwean and Zambian sides within reach of Kasane.
Mobile safaris
The lodge also offers luxury mobile safaris into Chobe, Savuti, Linyanti, Khwai, Moremi and Nxai Pan on enquiry. That makes it a possible starting point for a longer overland circuit rather than only a Kasane stay.
