Moremi Crossing stands on Ntswi Island in Gunn’s Private Concession, directly opposite the southern tip of Chief’s Island and immediately below Moremi Game Reserve. Being on a private concession rather than inside the reserve means it can offer what Moremi cannot: night drives, walking, off-road tracking and fly-camping.

Tents
Sixteen units in total — fourteen tented suites, one family suite and one honeymoon tent. Meru tents on raised wooden decks, with the main area on stilts over the Boro River. Solar power with generator backup and limited Wi-Fi.
Facilities at Moremi Crossing
A swimming pool, a firepit, a safari shop and laundry. The activity programme covers both water and land: mokoro, boat safaris, fishing, walking and off-road tracking, game and night drives, helicopter flights and adventure fly-camping.
Location and access
Fly-in: about 20 minutes by light aircraft from Maun, or an hour and a half from Kasane, to Ntswi airstrip, then roughly a ten-minute drive. Not self-drive accessible.
Concession, not reserve — and what that buys
The single most useful thing to understand about the Delta is the difference between the public reserve and the private concessions around it. Inside Moremi you may not drive at night, drive off-road or walk. On a concession like Gunn’s, all three are permitted.

Both halves of the Delta from one camp
Ntswi Island sits where the water country meets drier ground, which is why the activity list runs from mokoro to night drive. Many Delta itineraries achieve that by booking two camps and a flight between them. Doing it from one base is cheaper in time and in transfer costs, if slightly less specialised at each end.
The camp also runs fly-camping for guests who want a night out under canvas away from the main camp, which is a genuinely different experience rather than a rebranded one.
Who it suits
- Travellers with one Delta camp to spend, who want water and land rather than choosing.
- Anyone who wants to walk, which the reserve itself does not permit.
- Photographers, for night drives and off-road access next door to Chief’s Island.
It suits you less if you want the deep permanent water of the northern Delta, or a very small camp.
A note on the name and the operator
Moremi Crossing was formerly an Under One Botswana Sky camp and now sits under Kwando Safaris following their consolidation. Older listings still carry the old operator. It also trades on the heritage of the historic Gunn’s Camp on the same concession; it is not the same property.
