The Hornbill Lodge is at Nata, where the A3 from Francistown meets the A33 north to Kasane. Two restaurants on site is unusual for a junction town, and it makes this the most complete option for travellers arriving late on either road.

Nata, and why it is on this site
Nata sits at the junction of the A3 from Francistown and the A33 north to Kasane, on the edge of the Sua Pan. Almost everyone who stays here is breaking a long drive, heading for Chobe, the Makgadikgadi or the Nata Bird Sanctuary.
That makes it one of the most useful overnight points in the country and one of the least glamorous. Most properties are roadside guesthouses and small lodges rather than pan camps, and we list them as such.
Who it suits
- Travellers breaking the Francistown to Kasane drive.
- Late arrivals who want dinner without leaving the property.
- Anyone visiting the Nata Bird Sanctuary.
